Interested in adding more detail to your solar proposals? Below are instructions on how to include more information about your solar project within the proposal.

Identify the Roof Type

You can now add the Roof Type to your proposal templates by customizing your proposal templates created on the Proposal Templates page in the Settings area. To add the roof type, insert a Rich Text Paragraph into the custom template by dragging the "Rich Text Paragraph" from the component library into the custom template you do this. Insert text as a label, such as "Roof Type", in the Rich Text Paragraph, then, select the "Roof Type (asphalt, shingle, etc.)" value from the "Insert data value" list. Once selected, click the insert data value button to the right of the list.
Insert data value for roof type.

Be sure to save your custom template and set it as your default. If you do not want it to be your default template, you can select your custom template later when generating a solar proposal by clicking the change button.

Make sure to save your proposal template as default.

Choose the Inverter

You can now pick the inverter manufacturer model on the Lay Out Panels and Select Panel pages, located below the aerial image. Click the arrow to reveal the drop down list of hundreds inverters. This list is pulled from the eligible inverters published by the Go Solar California guidelines. Select your desired inverter and continue on with your solar proposal.

For a data value to appear on your proposal, you need to add it to your custom proposal template. Customized proposal templates are created on the Proposal Templates page in the Settings area. To add the inverter model, insert a Rich Text Paragraph into the custom template by dragging the "Rich Text Paragraph" from the component library into the custom template. Insert text as a label, such as "Inverter Manufacturer and Model", then, select the "Inverter Manufacturer" and/or "Inverter Model" value from the "Insert data value" list. Once selected, click the insert data value button to the right of the list.

Insert data value for inverter model or manufacturer.

Be sure to save your custom template and set it as your default. If you do not want it to be your default template, you can select your custom template later when generating a proposal by clicking the change button.
