I hope you've been enjoying the new functionality that we added last week, to automatically save your work-in-progress as you're putting together proposals. This is a tremendous productivity enhancer: no more lost work due to phone calls or other interruptions in the middle of your proposal layout work. The Platform dutifully saves the proposal under the current lead, and shows you the % complete (and the specific status) of each proposal, right on your "My Leads" home page. You can Edit any incomplete proposal, picking up right where you left off, and you can also still "clone" (copy) any proposal and use it as a starting point to create an alternate proposal for the same prospect. All in all, it's a very powerful new feature set.
There's a saying: with great power comes great responsibility. So, now that your proposals are being auto-saved, and it's easier than ever to create MULTIPLE proposals for the same prospect, you might find that you're accumulating multiple proposals per lead. For example, you might want to generate different proposals to illustrate the use of a different panel, or a different PV system size / layout, or a different payment method (cash vs. financing). But all of the proposals have been "named" automatically based on the mount type (sloped roof / flat roof / ground mount) and the system size in DC kW. Thus, the names have not necessarily been helpful in distinguishing one proposal scenario from another.
Well, today we've added a new feature to help you manage the power of multiple proposals: you can now NAME your proposals using any descriptive text you choose.
As you're creating or editing a proposal, the top of each screen now includes an editable area containing the proposal name. Enter anything you like there, and it will be automatically associated with that proposal, and displayed in the lead details pop-up window on your "My Leads" home page. In fact, you can even rename a proposal right from the home page, using a new option in the drop-down menu that we introduced last week (next to each proposal name).
Notice that we've also "tightened up" the list of proposals so that up to 5 can be viewed without the need to scroll down, and we've added the TIME of the proposal (in addition to the date) as an added aid to help you tell the proposals apart.
Stay tuned . . . we've got more enhancements coming, all designed to help you Design . . . Propose . . . and Close more business.
